Synthesis and characterization of an acrylate-containing siliconized epoxy hybrid oligomer and its emulsion copolymerization with vinyl acetate/2-ethylhexylacrylate monomers
چکیده انگلیسی

The objective of the present work was the synthesis and characterization of an acrylate-containing siliconized epoxy hybrid oligomer (SiEPAC) and its emulsion copolymerization in the presence of vinyl acetate (VAc)/2-ethylhexylacrylate (2-EHA) monomers. The purity and structural conformation of this oligomer were ascertained from FT-IR and NMR spectral studies. Thermal properties of the copolymers were studied by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). The morphology of copolymers was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and then the effect of SiEPAC concentrations on the water absorption ratio was examined. The results show that the water-resistance of the P(VAc-co-2-EHA-co-SiEPAC) films compared with the P(VAc-co-2-EHA) was greatly improved.
