Isolation and characterization of a lipopeptide bioemulsifier produced by Pseudomonas nitroreducens TSB.MJ10 isolated from a mangrove ecosystem

► We report a unique benzoate-utilizing Pseudomonas nitroreducens strain TSB.MJ10. ► We report a novel lipopeptide bioemulsifier produced by P. nitroreducens TSB.MJ10. ► The bioemulsifier formed stable emulsions under pH, temperature and NaCl stress. ► The bioemulsifier formed stable emulsions with various hydrocarbons. ► The bioemulsifier transformed the rheology of weathered crude oil.
