Modeling of Pendulum Systems based on Projection Method - Reusable Components Concept -

Modeling of plants to be controlled is an important step in control system designs. Generally, the modeling process tends to be complicated as the target plant structure is complicated. To deal with the issue, this paper focuses on the Projection method in the modeling process. In the projection method, a model can be constructed by the following systematic way in two steps: 1) modeling of each component of the entire system and 2) connecting all components. Once individual components' models are obtained, any entire model can be constructed only by thinking how to connect the components. The fact implies that there is a kind of reusability of components in the modeling process based on the Projection method. This paper presents the reusability by using pendulum systems as examples.
