Analysis of plant galactolipids by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry with accurate mass measurement

► HPLC/ESI-MS2 methods for detailed characterization of MGDGs and DGDGs were developed. ► Accurate mass spectra were needed to distinguish oxidised/non-oxidised galactolipids. ► The elution order of non-oxidised galactolipids followed their ECN values. ► A high number of galactolipids was identified in Arabidopsis thaliana and Melissa officinalis.
