Effect of the precursor on the activity of high temperature water gas shift catalysts

► Fe3O4-Cr2O3 catalysts doped with Cu or Co were prepared by oxidation-precipitation. ► The effect of sulfate and chloride precursors was studied. ► Catalysts from sulfate showed higher activity in WGS reaction. ► Addition of Cu and Co improves the catalytic performance when chloride is used.
