Drastic enhancement of effective thermal conductivity of a metal hydride packed bed by direct synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotubes

► We succeeded in direct synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotube on metal hydride. ► The effective thermal conductivity of the packed bed with metal hydride is estimated to be more than 10 Wm−1 K−1. ► This value can satisfy the required hydrogen absorption rate for fuel cell car from the practical aspect.
