Chemical characterization of Lavandula latifolia Medik. essential oil from Spanish wild populations

► 1,8-cineole, linalool and camphor identified as majority compounds. ► Linalool and camphor contents are inversely correlated. ► Camphor production is promoted in low altitudes (below 500 m.a.s.l.). ► Limonene, camphene and β-phellandrene are proposed as marker compounds. ► No direct relation between essential oil yield and geographical origin was found.
