A new hopane triterpenoid and other constituents from Hybanthus austro-caledonicus (Vieill.) Schinz & Guillaumin

► Eight triterpenes and sterols were isolated from Hybanthus austro-caledonicus. ► A new hopane, 3-epi-woodwardinic acid, has been characterized. ► It is the first time that hopane-type triterpenoids were detected in genus Hybanthus. ► No cyclotide has been detected in aerial parts of Hybanthus austro-caledonicus.
