Synthetic studies on glycosphingolipids from protostomia phyla: synthesis of glycosphingolipids and related carbohydrate moieties from the parasite Schistosoma mansoni

► Three novel glycosphingolipids found from Schistosoma mansoni have been synthesized. ► Six oligosaccharide derivatives from the same parasite also were obtained. ► They can be expected as probes to explore diagnostic potential of schistosomiasis.
