Photoinduced anticancer activity studies of iridium(III) complexes targeting mitochondria and tubules

Three iridium (III) complexes [Ir(N-C)2 (ipbc)](PF6) (N-C = ppy, Ir-1; bzq, Ir-2; piq, Ir-3) were synthesized and characterized. The anticancer activity of the complexes was investigated by apoptosis, comet assay, ROS, mitochondrial membrane potential, autophagy, intracellular Ca2+ levels, release of cytochrome c, tubules and western blot analysis.308
