Polypyrrole nanowire/TiO2 nanotube nanocomposites as photoanodes for photocathodic protection of Ti substrate and 304 stainless steel under visible light

- A PPy NW/TiO2 NT coaxial heterojunction nanocomposite was prepared.
- The nanocomposite showed obvious visible light responses.
- The ordered structure enhanced the photocurrent density of the resultant nanocomposite.
- Photogenerated cathodic protection for 304 stainless steel was observed.
