Helium induced void and bubble formation in MgO

► We present a rate theory modelling helium induced void and bubble formation. ► Pair potential calculations are used to assess the parameters of the rate theory. ► The results of the rate theory modelling are compared with experiment. ► The experimental seen behaviour is explained from the atomistic picture.
