Electromagnetic and microwave absorption properties of surface modified Fe-Si-Al flakes with nylon

► Surface modified Fe-Si-Al flakes with nylon 6 have been successfully prepared by a simple melt compounding method. ► The suppression of the overlarge permittivity by surface modification is significant especially in the lower frequency range. ► Microwave absorption performance has been significantly improved by surface modification with an appropriate amount of nylon 6 in S-band.
