Properties of carbon film deposited on stainless steel by close field unbalanced magnetron sputter ion plating

► Carbon films are deposited on SS304 by unbalanced magnetron sputter ion plating. ► The corrosion resistance of SS304 is greatly improved. ► The interfacial contact resistance value of SS304 drastically decreases. ► Bias voltage and target current effect on the carbon film properties are clarified.
