Visible light induced cell damage of Gram positive bacteria by N-doped TiO2 mesoporous thin films

► N-doped mesoporous titania thin films were prepared by using sol-gel process. ► The titania thin films have highly ordered Im3m cubic crystalline arrangement. ► Due to N-doping the band gap of the titania thin films was reduced. ► The bactericidal activity under visible light irradiation was tested.
