Interactions between Y2O3-Al mixture studied by solid-state reaction method

► Pure YAG powder is synthesized by Y2O3 and Al powders calcined at 1200 °C for 2 h. ► In Y2O3 - Al mixture, Al first turns into amorphous alumina, then reacts with Y2O3 with temperature increasing. ► No phase transformation occurs for Y2O3 or Y2O3-Al mixture during milling.
