This paper presents the temperature effects on the emission spectra of Rhodamine B in ethylene glycol solution mixed with 50% pure water. The emission spectra at different Rhodamine B dye concentration were studied in a temperature range of-34oC through 64oC. Results show that growing solution temperature reduces the fluorescent emission intensity, and no obvious discrepancy between fluorescent characteristics of RhB in ethylene glycol and in pure water was observed. A dual normalization method was developed to process the experimental data and to correlate the relative intensity with solution temperature, this method effectively eliminates the influence of signal fluctuations during fluorescence detection. Tests of droplets temperature measurements were also carried out to demonstrate the feasibility of the current non-intrusive method in applications concerning droplets temperature monitoring.
