Influence of marine oligosaccharides on the response of various biological systems to UV irradiation

► COS and ADO with low molecular weight, specific charges and functional groups have been prepared and analyzed. ► Selected biological models have been applied. ► The bioactivities were studied upon UV irradiation. ► COS and ADO indicate significant anti-UVR activities. ► We suggest that ADO and COS can be explored as potential UVR protectors in the area of functional foods as food ingredients.
