Chromatoid body: Remnants of nucleolar proteins during spermatogenesis in triatomine (Heteroptera, Triatominae)

► The Chromatoid body (CB) is a male reproductive cell-specific structure. ► We examined the possibility of CB be caused by nucleolar fragmentation. ► The nucleolar protein fibrillarin may be an important way to further study of CB. ► We evaluated fibrillarin protein expression in CB in germ cells of triatomines.
