Corrosion properties of micro- and nanocomposite copper matrix coatings produced from a copper pyrophosphate bath under pulse current

►Pure Cu, Cu-μSiC and Cu-nSiC composite coatings have been produced by electrodeposition. ►The electrodeposition was performed under direct and pulse curr,ent. ►The characterization regards the microstructure, SiC content and corrosion properties. ►The Cu-nSic deposits present the highest corrosion resistance and the Cu-μSiC the lowest. ►The use of pulse current refines the microstructure and increases the corrosion resistance.
