Thermal shock resistance of FeMnCrAl/Cr3C2-Ni9Al coatings deposited by high velocity arc spraying

►FeMnCrAl/Cr3C2-Ni9Al coating on carbon steel substrates was prepared by arc spraying. ►Ni9Al interlayer improved the thermal shock resistance of the arc-sprayed coatings. ►The cracks in the coatings were initiated and propagated along the oxide phases. ►Ni and Fe appeared in the interdiffusion process, forming the diffusion layer.
