Growth of cockles (Cerastoderma edule) in the Oosterschelde described by a Dynamic Energy Budget model

► A DEB model for cockles is presented. ► A calibration is done with an extensive set of field data on cockle growth. ► Cockle shell length is well described by the model. ► The model underestimates the variation in AFDW during the early Summer. ► The DEB model has been compared with a scope for growth model called COCO.
