Numerical study for differential constitutive equations with polymer melts by using a hybrid finite-element/volume method
چکیده انگلیسی

• Investigation of complex flow, tube tooling cable-coating using the single-equation representation of the pom-pom (SXPP) model.
• Influence of variation in Weissenberg number on stress response and pressure drop across the flow.
• Evaluate free-surface movement by using the time dependent prediction method, which is termed Phan-Thien (dh/dt) scheme.

This paper covers the numerical investigation of complex flow, tube tooling cable-coating using the single-equation representation of the pom-pom (SXPP) model. Here, the hybrid scheme consists of a Taylor–Galerkin finite element discretisation, and a cell-vertex fluctuation-distribution finite volume approach is employed. For this method, the momentum-continuity equations have been solved by a fractional-staged Taylor–Galerkin/pressure correction procedure and invoke a cell-vertex fluctuation distribution finite volume scheme for the constitutive law. Stress response and pressure drop across the flow are investigated with respect to variation in Weissenberg number and solvent-fraction (ββ).
