The first record of neolignans from the marine phanerogam Posidonia oceanica

► The chemical content of the seagrass Posidonia oceanica rhizomes was investigated. ► Two neolignans were isolated and structurally characterised. ► The presence of neolignans in Posidonia oceanica is reported for the first time.
