Synthesis of three-dimensional flower-like BiOCl:RE3+ (RE3+Â =Â Eu3+, Sm3+) globular microarchitectures and their luminescence properties

- Three-dimensional flower-like Eu3+ and Sm3+-activated BiOCl globular microarchitectures have been synthesized.
- Ostwald ripening and recrystallization are responsible for the growth mechanism of BiOCl microarchitectures.
- Efficient red-emission from Eu3+:BiOCl is observed due to the well-crystallized structures of the microarchitectures.
