XPS and UPS study on band alignment at Pt-Zn-terminated ZnO(0Â 0Â 0Â 1) interface

► We prepared platinum-zinc terminated zinc oxide interface by platinum deposition. ► XPS core level shifts and band bending were investigated. ► Platinum deposition leads to zinc oxide surface reduction and platinum oxide formation. ► We determined band alignment of the Pt-ZnO interface determination.
