Resilient aromaticity in lead-indium clusters

►PbIn3- and Pb2In2 are identified as heavy 'all-metal aromatics'. ►PbIn3- and Pb2In2 possess large HOMO-LUMO gaps of 1.34 and 1.45 eV, respectively. ►Atomic arrangement within Pb2In2 can be varied without disturbing the aromaticity.
