MWNT-TiO2:Ni composite catalyst: A new class of catalyst for photocatalytic H2 evolution from water under visible light illumination

As photosensitizer, MWNTs absorb the irradiation and inject the photogenerated electrons into the conduction band of the TiO2 particles. The isolated Ni nanoparticles, as H2 evolution sites, assist the transfer of the electrons of conduction band to reduce water molecules. Meanwhile, donor is oxidized by donating the electrons to MWNTs.
