Modeling of the 'hydration shell' of uracil and thymine in small water clusters by DFT and MP2 methods

Hydrated uracil structures with clustered water molecules (a) are preferred over structures with water distributed around the base (b) because of the increased attractive water-water interaction in the clustered structures.
