Field emission properties of boron and nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes

Field emission properties of boron and nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes (CNTs), grown in situ on tungsten tips and flat silicon substrates have been studied. The doped CNTs yield a high current density of ∼4 A/cm2 for a total emission current of 1 μA.
