Synthesis, the effect of rare earth ion concentration and temperature on luminescence properties of Eu3+: Ba3Y2WO9 ceramics

► Ba3Y2WO9: Eu3+ ceramics were prepared by solid state reaction method. ► Effect of temperature and concentration on luminescence of Eu3+ ions has been studied. ► PL spectra of 5 mol% of Eu3+: Ba3Y2WO9 ceramics calcined at 1000 °C have shown an intense red emission. ► It is suggested that these ceramic powders are brightly luminescent and are used as novel optical materials.
