On the 90th birthday of Oleg V. Mazurin, scholar and teacher

This article is written to honor Professor Oleg V. Mazurin on the occasion of his 90th birthday. Dr. Mazurin's many contributions to glass science are amply presented in the technical literature by several hundred scientific papers, including 10 in this Journal, and 15 books. The following is a personal account of the reports and events that took place in 1970s. Prof. Mazurin's later contributions as well as his lesser known ones are referenced or briefly reviewed.
