Leishmania donovani recombinant iron superoxide dismutase B1 protein in the presence of TLR-based adjuvants induces partial protection of BALB/c mice against Leishmania major infection

► Leishmania donovani superoxide dismutase B1 (SODB1) is immunogenic in BALB/c mice. ► In the presence of CpG ODN or GLA-SE adjuvants, rSODB1 partially protects BALB/c mice against Leishmania major challenge. ► Recombinant SODB1 protein may represent potential vaccine candidate.
