Aerosol retrievals over China with the AATSR dual view algorithm

► The AATSR retrievals over Eastern China show seasonal variation of the AODs over areas having strong athropogenic activity. ► Over urban areas the highest AODs are observed during summer, and lowest during winter. ► Over rural areas the AODs remain low troughout the year. ► The contribution of the fine mode particles to the total AOD is over 70% over most part of the Eastern China.
