Scaling properties of fault rocks

► Fault zone microstructures are described by two different scaling properties. ► We use H (fracture surface roughness) and D (grain size distribution). ► Grain size distribution: D increases with proximity to shear zone centres. ► Fracture roughness: data set described satisfactorily by single mean value. ► Further work: closer analysis of H and D relation at shear zone edges.
