Mineral concentrations in the embryo and seed coat of common bean cultivars

► Distribution of minerals in the seed fractions in common bean was examined. ► Bean contains 94% calcium in seed coat and 76% potassium in embryo. ► Iron, zinc and copper concentrations vary widely between seed fractions. ► BRS Supremo and Iraí cultivars have high nutritional value for dietary use.
