An ultrastructural study, effects of Proteus vulgaris OX19 on the rabbit spleen cells

► Effects of Proteus vulgaris OX19 on the spleen cells of rabbits were investigated by TEM. ► Ultrastructural changes were defined in Proteus OX19 treated spleen tissue cells due to the antigenic stimulation of bacteria. ► Interactions with lymphocytes and macrophage cells were frequently seen. ► Chemotaxis of macrophages, presence of phagocytic vacuoles and loss of chromatin material were observed.
