Dosage sérique des chaînes légères libres (CLL) d'immunoglobulines : de la biologie à  la clinique

Detection and measurement of serum or urine immunoglobulin free-light-chains have been associated with a large variety of analytical problems (low amounts of immunoglobulin free-light-chains in biological fluids, interindividual variability of the structure and the immunochemical characteristics, no international standard…). Recently, a quantitative immunoassay has been available for immunoglobulin free-light-chains dosage in both serum and urine. This review aims at discussing advantages and potential pitfalls of this new immunoassay in daily laboratory practice, and at analysing the main clinical relevance of this test in clinical diagnosis.
