Isolation, purification and biochemical characterization of dipeptidyl peptidase-III from germinated Vigna radiata seeds

► This is the first detailed study of DPP-III from plants. ► Plant DPP-III preferably cleaves Arg-Arg-4mβNA and is a cysteine/metallo protease. ► It is a heterodimer with approximate molecular weight of 60 kDa. ► Mobilization of seed storage proteins might be the function of DPP-III in plants. ► Involvement of this enzyme in plant development needs to be studied further.
