Mercury in Common Chanterelles mushrooms: Cantharellus spp. update

► We examined Hg in Common Chanterelles and soil substratum. ► Data on Hg in 12 species of Cantharellus genus worldwide are reviewed. ► Hg in Chanterelles is low in central and northern compared to southern Europe. ► Data on speciation of Hg in Chanterelles are included. ► Exposures to Hg for consumers of Chanterelles from Poland are below guidelines on safe exposures.
