Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method to detect Tetrodotoxin and Its analogues in the puffer fish Lagocephalus sceleratus (Gmelin, 1789) from European waters

► Detection of tetrodotoxin and its analogues in Lagocephalus sceleratus puffer fish. ► Specimens of L. scelaratus caught in European waters (Aegean Sea, Greece). ► Sensitive and selective LC-ESI-CID-MS/MS method for quantification of TTXs with a LOD. ► Separation and identification of the toxins in just a 25 min analysis is achieved. ► The method could be a useful tool for routine analysis of puffer fish tissues.
