Copper on boehmite: A simple, selective, efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst for oxidation of alcohols with periodic acid in water at room temperature

▶ Catalytic oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds by Cu/AlO(OH). ▶ Catalytic reaction was carried out in water solvent and at room temperature. ▶ Conversion and selectivity are good. ▶ Reusability of the catalyst is good. ▶ Primary alcohols are chemoselectively oxidized in presence of secondary alcohols.
