Characterization of a methyl-esterified tetragalacturonide fragment isolated from a commercial pectin with a medium degree of methyl-esterification

- A mono-methyl esterified galacturonic acid oligomer was generated from pectin.
- Its structure was determined using MALDI TOF MS and 2D NMR spectroscopy.
- The 1H and 13C assignments will help determine more complex pectin structures.
