What is in a name? A rejoinder to Ziauddin Sardar's 'the namesake'

Names are not merely labels. They have meaning and significance, my own life has been shaped by my name. So what we call our schoalrly pursuits and practice is important. I do prospective, not futures studies. This essay explores the significance of the term 'prospective' and suggests that it has aspirations of becoming a discipline.
