Experimental and numerical investigation of sloshing resonance phenomena in a spring-mounted rectangular tank

► We investigated sloshing of a liquid inside a tank on a spring controlled seesaw. ► If the mechanical eigenfrequency is close to the sloshing frequency beating occurs. ► If beating occurs energy is periodically transferred between sloshing and tank motion. ► This resonance phenomenon is identified by experiments and numerical simulations.
