Layered two- and four-bed PSA processes for H2 recovery from coal gas

▶ H2 PSA processes with layered beds were studied for H2 recovery from coal gas. ▶ The PSA process with zeolite-rich bed produced H2 higher purity and lower recovery. ▶ N2 was a major impurity and the zeolite layer worked as a separator/purifier of N2. ▶ The four-bed PSA could produce H2 with a purity of 96-99.5% and a recovery of 71-85%.
