Depressurized dissociation of methane-hydrate-bearing natural cores with low permeability

► We performed an experiment to clarify dissociation characteristics of a low permeability core based on natural sediments. ► Clarify the differences between a low-permeability core and a high-permeability artificial core. ► Evaluate the hydrate dissociation rate constant as compared to our previously proposed dissociation model. ► Elucidate a simple sensible heat consuming model for the depressurization process of a low-permeability core. ► Evaluate this model as compared with the experimental results.
