Operation and dynamic behavior of wire mesh pads

► Six different wire mesh pads tested. Pressure drop and separation efficiency recorded. ► Liquid holdup, droplet size distribution and flooding point was also investigated. ► Efficiency and droplet size distribution for the empty separation vessel was probed. ► The results shows a time dependency in operation of wire mesh pads. ► A new parameter is proposed to describe the dynamics of wire mesh pads.
