Cultural reinterpretation and resonance: The San and hip-hop

► We made an accessible Virtual Environment of an extinct culture for modern users. ► We prepare users for the San culture with a primer VE that is culturally familiar. ► We measured several aspects of experience: presence showed significant improvement. ► Hip-hop themed priming was only effective for users with an interest in the genre. ► One must uncover users' cultural affinities for cultural priming to be useful.
