Deposition of continuous nickel shells on polymer microspheres

► Continuous Ni shells were deposited on monodispersed polymer microspheres. ► The polymer surface was activated by depositing small Pd clusters. ► The density of Pd clusters was maximized by treating the polymer with aliphatic polyamines. ► The continuity and smoothness of Ni shell improved when lengthening the amine chain.
